This Third Astrophysics Workshop held in the wake of the International Year of Astronomy 2009, is the continuation of both the Auresian workshop held in 2008 at Batna and the Algiers Workshop last year. It aims at strengthening the national astrophysicist community by being a meeting ground for exchange and for keeping updated on the latest advances in the various branches of astrophysics.

Flashback:
This First Workshop (organized by Batna University in cooperation with the Ecole Doctorale d’Astrophysique, Mentouri University, CRAAG, CTS/ASAL) was held in the context of the opening up that year of the "Ecole Doctorale d'Astrophysique", the first of its kind in Algeria. Its aims at giving to the budging astronomy and astrophysics national community a much needed space to discuss current research. The Second Workshop was held at Algiers, hosted by the CRAAG.
